I’m really grateful to see you.
“It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. . . . But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines, it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something. What are we holding on to, Sam? That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo... and it's worth fighting for."
-Samwise Gamgee, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers-
I love you. Let's sip & sit together.
Something to Ask:
“If you restarted your life from scratch, would you end up in the same place?”
Something to Help You:
Ever try to invite in a cozy setting with a good ole YouTube ambience video beamed up to your TV, only for a trailer for the latest (and not-so-greatest) horror movie to barge on in right as your heart rate finally slows? Nooo bueno. I highly recommend swapping over to YouTube Kids during those times. Obviously, you won’t have access to all of the music and clips you might be looking for, but if it’s just calming ambience you’re after, this is thee way to go.
Something to Taste:
One of my favorite meal prep hacks is this lil gem: crock-pot whole chicken. It’s as simple and budget friendly as it gets, and completely customizable to be as flavorful or plain as you’d prefer. I typically just use onions, garlic, salt, pepper, butter and paprika. I’ve even submerged the chicken in only water before and it’s done the trick. But for a good standard recipe to go by to start you off, this one does the trick. Cook it & shred the meat at the beginning of the week, and have shredded chicken to toss into salads, pastas, tortillas, rice bowls, what have you for the week ahead. Protein Queen, long will you reign.
Something to Bring You Joy:
Speaking of comforting ambience scenes, our favorite YouTube Channel Calmed By Nature just released the most magical sunshine-filled setting to soothe your Monday Madness: Summer Coffee Shop Bookstore Ambience. Click & get cozy here!
Praying your week ahead brings you peace, connection, and an endless supply of gentleness, given and received.
Big Hugs. Always.
